David Mecklenburg

David Mecklenburg was born in Sacramento, CA. but at the age of 22 he moved home to the Pacific Northwest, where he received his MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington. In short fiction, novellas, poetic essays and novels, he unveils worlds upon worlds in the fabulist tradition that reveal the multivalent condition we call being human. His short fiction has appeared in Silver Blade Magazine, Adelaide Literary Review, The Dark Fiction Spotlight among anthologies, such as Blue Forge Press’s Trinity series. His longer work includes The Nightingale’s Stone, a fictional memoir, along with Graphic Illustrated Essay collections such as Hyperborea and Deukollectrum.

“Write now, I’m focusing on creative work: a new novel, short fiction, and some poetry. To facilitate that, I have stripped down this website to some bare essentials for the time being.” -David Mecklenburg
